FM4 Adventurous – Reinhard Grubhofer

You’ll probably remember the famous photo of the queues of people on Everest this May. An unusually narrow window of good weather and a record number of issued climbing licences led to delays on the world’s highest mountain. Delays in those freezing, oxygen-starved conditions are deadly. 12 people were killed this year, many due to exhaustion. Austrian climber Reinhard Grubhofer was on Everest during those critical hours. He told Chris Cummins what it felt like.
